Steiltes at a glance
Steiltes
As the name would suggest, Steiltes occupies an elevated part of Mbombela. Its key marker, a water reservoir painted to resemble a soccer ball, can be seen from almost any direction down below. Overlooking the city from its lofty heights, some of the city's original truly spectacular, boulder-hugging homes were built here when development started around the 80s.
Steiltes is reached via Ferreira Street from central Nelspruit and Dr Enos Mabuza from the West Acres side. It is characterised by large family homes, often discreetly hidden by lush, well-maintained gardens. It is a quiet neighbourhood, away from the hustle and bustle down below. Homes are geared towards indoor-outdoor entertainment, maximising spectacular views.
A shopping centre with a village feel services the area, but larger shops, schools, hospitals and malls are nearby and easily accessible.
